The recent Amazon Commercial featuring a dog with a broken cast has become very popular and successful. It features a poor little white dog who struggles to get around due to its broken leg and this has struck gold in the eyes of sympathetic consumers. Celebrity Dog House featured the commercial here when it originally aired.
However, the second successful aspect of the commercial is the song playing in the background of the commercial. Many inquiries have been made as to who sings it and with good reason. The song is pretty catchy and has a vagabond quality to it that just puts you in the mood to go a wondering!
“Do I know where hell is? Hell is in hello.
Heaven is in goodbye for ever, it’s time for me to go.
I was born under a wandrin’ star, a wandrin’ wandrin’ star.
Mud can make you prisoner, and the plains can bake you dry.
Snow can burn your eyes, but only people make you cry.
Well the name of the catchy tune is Wand’rin Star and is sung by the late actor Lee Marvin. The song derives from a 1969 film of the same name. Lee Marvin may not have had the best singing voice, but his dark and extra deep baritone voice is fitting for this song.
The lyrics themselves are playful with a mighty strong hint of life’s truth. The song of course is available on Amazon Prime. Below is the clip of Lee Marvin singing the song in the movie.
Here is the Amazon Commercial featuring the dog and the song playing in the background. The tune now forever in our heads to be whistled as we walk our dogs, under the wand’rin sky.
